Teaching

David has 12 years of experience of teaching and lecturing in Higher Education in the UK, Europe and internationally across Business Management, Events Management, Tourism and Hospitality Management subject areas. He currently teaches at the following places of learning:

From 2012 to 2022 David was a Senior Lecturer in Events Management, at Sheffield Business School, Sheffield Hallam University. He was also their Collaborative Course Leader for Events, Hospitality and Tourism at The School for Higher and Professional Education (SHAPE), a member institution of the Vocational Training Council, in Hong Kong.

He won six consecutive Sheffield Business School inspirational teaching awards; and two Sheffield Hallam University-wide inspirational teaching awards (in 2017 and 2019).

He is happy to create teaching content and assessment from scratch or simply deliver existing materials, using his own context and case studies to bring the material to life.

David loves teaching – he brings real enthusiasm to the classroom or the class zoom, he shows great passion for the subject he is teaching and uses interactive teaching techniques to engage students and delegates.  He regularly receives outstanding feedback from students and training course delegates.

He is proficient at using technology for teaching, whether that be in class technology such as padlet or slido, or using Teams or Zoom to teach online.  He uses different teaching methods whether a course be in person or remote, always ensuring that the students are engaged and actively participating throughout.
